No. 047/09/63 / Th. XVI, 3 September 2012: DEVELOPMENTS IN CONSUMER PRICE INDEX / INFLATION SOUTH KALIMANTAN

In August 2012 the city of Banjarmasin experienced inflation of 0.70 percent. Of the 66 cities in Indonesia, recorded all cities experiencing inflation. The highest inflation was in Palu with 2.81 percent and the lowest occurred in the city of Medan at 0.04 percent.

Inflation Banjarmasin occur due to price increases shown by the rise in the index for processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 1, 40 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.19 percent, clothing by 1 , 79 percent, health by 0.87 percent and rising thirst in the transport, communication and financial services by 1.79 percent. Meanwhile, education, recreation and sport does not change the price and foodstuff price decline of 0.27 percent.

According to its components, goods whose prices are influenced by government policies (administered goods inflation) generally experienced inflation of 0.45 percent, prices volatile (volatile goods inflation) inflation of 0.19 percent and core components (core inflation) inflation 1,01 percent.
The inflation rate of calendar year (January-August) in 2012 amounted to 4.36 percent, while the rate of inflation â € œyear on yearâ € (August 2012 to August 2011) amounted to 5.53 percent
