Abstract

  • Human development in Kalimantan Selatan continues to progress marked by the continued increase in the Kalimantan Selatan Human Development Index (HDI). In 2018, South Kalimantan's HDI has reached 70.17. This figure increased by 0.52 points or grew by 0.75 percent compared to 2017.
  • In 2018, the status of human development in Kalimantan Selatan went up to the level of the "high" HDI level, because the value of the HDI of South Kalimantan was already above 70.
  • During the period 2017 to 2018, the components forming the HDI also increased. Newborns in 2018 have an opportunity to live up to 68.23 years, an increase of 0.21 years compared to the previous year. 7-year-olds have the opportunity to attend 12.50 years of schooling, an increase of 0.04 years compared to 2017. Meanwhile, the population aged 25 years and above has on average studied 8.00 years, increasing by 0 , 01 year compared to the previous year. Public expenditure per capita (constant price 2012) has reached Rp12,062 million in 2018, an increase of Rp.462 thousand compared to the previous year.
