No. 061/11/63 / Th.XV, 5 November 2012 ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SOUTH KALIMANTAN QUARTER III-2012

South Kalimantan's economy in the third quarter of 2012 grew by 6.52% (q to q) compared to the previous quarter and when compared to the same quarter last year grew 4.91% (y-on-y). Amount of GDP on Current Market Prices in the third quarter of 2012 reached Rp 20.50 trillion or equivalent to Rp. 9.30 trillion if calculated on the basis of constant 2000 prices.

Three sectors that experienced the highest growth (q-to-q) is 15.65% agricultural sector, the services sector at 6.64% and the transport and communications sector 5.96%. As for growth (y-on-y) was 9.12% in the construction sector, trade, hotels and restaurants 8.56% and transport and communications sector 7.20%.

Cumulatively, until the third quarter of 2012, South Kalimantan's economy grew by 5.73% compared to the same period last year (c to c).

The structure of the economy in this quarter is dominated by agriculture, mining and trade, hotels and restaurants, each of which accounted for 22.99%, 22.29% and 15.11%.

From the demand side (demmand side), some components of the use of domestic demand increased household consumption and non-profit institutions, government consumption and GFCF.
In this third quarter, external impacts just feels that cause components to overseas export and import of negative growth, while domestic trade (exports and imports between provinces) still positive growth for their harvest and the moment of Ramadan and Eid.
